about
Both sharing origins in the small town of Forlì, in the Romagna region of Italy, it was probably destiny for Alessandro Cortini and Matteo Vallicelli to be collaborating on music together. They share a similar history: both left Italy in their twenties, moving abroad to pursue their music careers. Cortini became a member of Nine Inch Nails, Vallicelli joined The Soft Moon. Both releasing music as solo artists. Matteo and Alessandro met in 2018 in Bologna, sharing the stage during Alessandro’s tour for ’Avanti’. Then met again in LA, where The Soft Moon shared the stage with Nine Inch Nails. In early 2019, Vallicelli kept busy writing new music, and felt like it could be fun to collaborate with other artists and friends. “Cortini was the first person I contacted, and he enthusiastically agreed to participate. I sent him the early workings of a track and received his parts a couple of days later. He added some angelic synth melodies and extraordinary sound design and effects, giving the song a unique personality. ‘Dietrofront’ is one of my favorite tracks on the album and definitely one that’s different from everything else in terms of mood and feelings”.
